Diana Tello Medina is an Urban Development Specialist working in the Africa Urban, Resilience, and Land Team at the World Bank. Her experience spans lending operations and analytics across the topics of urban resilience, territorial development, local economic development, competitive cities, and municipal finance. Most recently, her work has focused in Africa East and West, with previous experience in Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East and North Africa. She also has experience in South Asia, where she worked as a core team member of the programmatic housing sector engagement consisting of a package of policy and investment operations in Tamil Nadu, India, where one of the objectives is to increase private sector participation in affordable housing.
Before joining the World Bank, Diana worked for 8 years in the financial markets of New York City and Monterrey, Mexico, advising on fintech solutions and credit risk management. She completed her undergraduate studies in economics at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico, and holds a master’s degree in local economic development from the London School of Economics.
