Dianne Calvi is President and CEO of Village Enterprise. Working in rural Sub-Saharan Africa, Village Enterprise has started over 43,000 businesses, trained over 169,000 new small business owners and lifted over 940,000 people out of extreme poverty. Since Dianne joined as CEO in 2010, Village Enterprise has successfully completed an independent randomized control trial that provided positive evidence for its cost-effective model, launched the first development impact bond for poverty alleviation, and has been recognized for excellence by Charity Navigator, Guidestar, The Life You Can Save, ImpactMatters, and Innovations for Poverty Action. Dianne is a member of the board of directors of InterAction.
Dianne previously held leadership positions in NGOs, technology companies and on several nonprofit boards. She graduated with a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from Bocconi University (Milan, Italy) on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship.
