Diego Canales is a Senior Transport Technology Consultant at the World Bank, managing the digital road traffic speed limits mapping initiative. Diego has been a leader in the global urban mobility data space having served at the World Resources Institute (WRI) and The World Bank, focusing on urban mobility initiatives and transportation technologies throughout Latin America and Europe.
Prior to joining the World Bank, he was the Global Partnerships Manager at Populus. Previously he was the Global Data Partnerships Manager at TransitScreen, where amongst other things he managed OpenMobilityData, a worldwide repository of open GTFS and GTFS-RT data feeds.
Diego holds a Master of City Planning from the University of California at Berkeley.
