Diego Portugal Del Pino, from Peru, has more than 10 years of experience working on climate change adaptation, ecology and conservation, and nature-based solutions (NbS) in organisations such as WWF International, ILO, Agence Française de Développement and FAO. He is currently providing technical and strategic support for implementation and capacity building at the International Training Centre of the ILO on the above-mentioned topics, focusing on projects mainly in South America and Africa. He is also conducting part-time online doctoral research at the University of Bonn, examining the politics of trade-offs in climate change adaptation. Diego holds a BSc in Environmental Science from James Cook University and an MSc in Sustainable Resource Management from the Technical University of Munich.
