Dina Abu-Ghaida is currently Lead Economist in the Education Global Practice in the Middle East and North Africa Region. She has led teams working on both education sector projects and analytical reports in several countries in Central Asia, Africa, and the Middle East – including in conflict-affected settings. Her operational and analytical experience spans all levels of education, beginning with early childhood education through basic, secondary, and higher education. Education finance has been a primary area of analytical focus, including reviews of public education expenditure in several countries and per student financing in transition economies. She currently coordinates the World Bank’s support to education reform in Jordan and Yemen, and acts as one of the Education Global Practice’s focal points on education in fragile, conflict, and violence affected settings.
