Dipti Thapa is a Senior Economist with the World Bank’s Agriculture and Food Global Practice in the Eastern and Southern Africa region. Her expertise and interests span areas of sustainable and resilient agriculture and food systems, with a focus on smallholder commercialization, rural employment, and women’s empowerment. She also currently leads efforts to foster One Health approaches that focus on the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health in the region. Dipti holds a Master of Arts in International Economics and Policy from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cornell University.
