Senior Economist in the Chief Economist Office of the World Bank’s Economics, Finance and Institutions Vice Presidency and co-lead of the Energy Subsidy Reform Facility at ESMAP

Dirk Heine is a Senior Economist in the Chief Economist Office of the World Bank’s Economics, Finance and Institutions Vice Presidency, where he leads the workstream on climate-related tax and subsidy reforms. He is a co-author of the books “Getting Energy Prices Right”, “Fiscal Policies for Development and Climate Action”, “Designing Fiscal Instruments for Sustainable Forests” and “Fiscal Policies For Sustainable Recovery” (forthcoming). Before joining the World Bank in 2016, he worked at the IMF and German Finance Ministry on tax policy.
