Dmytro Derkach is a Communications Officer with the World Bank Office in Ukraine. He leads the Bank's outreach activities in the country, with special focus on civil society engagement and building demand for good governance. He also provides communication support to operations and works on political economy analysis and risk management. Before joining the Bank in 1997, Dmytro worked as a journalist for various media, editor in a publishing house, head of press service of the privatization agency, Press Director of the USAID privatization project, and Deputy CEO of a British PR firm. He holds a PhD degree in Theory of Literature and Literary Criticism from the Institute of Literature of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences.
