Dominique Vervoort is a final year medical student at the KU Leuven in Belgium and incoming Research Associate at the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change at Harvard Medical School. Dominique is a founding member and Co-Chair of InciSioN - International Student Surgical Network, and founder and Chair of the Global Surgery National Working Group - BeMSA Belgium. He leads the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA) Small Working Group on Basic Surgical Skills and sits on the IFMSA Policy Commission on Universal Health Coverage. Dominique is part of the Global Initiative for Children's Surgery (GICS) Policy, Financing, and Advocacy Working Group and currently works at the Leuven Institute for Healthcare Policy mapping the cost of poor quality in surgery.
