Dorothe Singer

Dorothe Singer is a Senior Economist in the Competitiveness Global Unit at the World Bank. Her research interests include access to finance and measuring financial inclusion as well as firm productivity and the role of competition. Previously, she was in the Office of the Chief Economist, Europe and Central Asia Region and the Finance and Private Sector Development Research Team of the Development Research Group at the World Bank. She is part of the team producing the Global Findex database, the world’s most comprehensive data set on how adults save, borrow, make payments, and manage financial risk, and a lead co-author of the 2014, 2017, 2021, and 2025 Global Findex reports. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from Tilburg University, The Netherlands.
