Doug Manuel is a public health consultant in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Region of the World Bank, with more than 25 years of experience as a researcher supporting public health surveillance and evaluation. Doug leads the wastewater and environmental group of Canada's Coronavirus Variants Rapid Response Network (CoVaRR-Net). He graduated as a medical doctor from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Doug has a Masters in Epidemiology and Public Health specialty degree from the University of Toronto, Canada. He is a Senior Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital and a Distinguished Professor at the University of Ottawa, Canada, where he holds a Research Chair in Precision Medicine for Disease Prevention.
