Dr Ajan Maheswaran Jaya is a public health specialist and epidemiologist, in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Kerala. He focuses on monitoring and evaluation and health system strengthening both through operational and analytical work. He provides technical support to the non-communicable diseases program and the One Health program. He was an officer in the State Disaster Control Room Directorate of Health Services (DHS) during the Kerala floods in 2018 and has been in charge of the COVID-19 Outbreak Prevention and Control State Cell in DHS since 2020. He has a post-graduation in community medicine and is completing the field epidemiology training program in advanced Non Communicable Diseases at the National Institute of Epidemiology Chennai.
