Dung Viet Do is currently a Senior Country Officer in the World Bank Vietnam office. In this role, he supports the Country Director and the Country Management Unit in formulating and implementing the World Bank engagement strategies and plans in Vietnam. He also provides cross support to various teams, leveraging his expertise and experience in macroeconomics, public finance and financial markets. He has led the development of analytical work vital to the World Bank’s operations in Vietnam such as the Vietnam Systematic Country Diagnostics Update 2021 and the World Bank – Vietnam Country Partnership Framework for FY18-22 and FY23-27. He has also provided support to the preparation of DPF operations for Ho Chi Minh City and National Sustainable and Inclusive Recovery – both delivered in FY21.
Prior to joining the World Bank in December 2015, he worked at the Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance for seven years assuming various management positions, including Deputy Director General of the Bank and Financial Institution Department and Deputy Chief of Staff.
Dung holds a Bachelor of Business in Banking and Finance from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, a Master degree and a PhD degree in Economics from McGill University, Canada.
