Transport Specialist

Eduardo Espitia is a Transport Specialist in Europe and Central Asia (ECA), currently based in Vienna. He joined the Bank in 2022 and has been working across the ECA region in the Western Balkans, the South Caucasus, Ukraine, Moldova, Türkiye, and multiple EU member states. His work at the World Bank has been focused on developing a range of analytical work informing policy dialogues and investment strategies around climate mitigation and adaptation in transport, regional connectivity, and freight transport corridors. Eduardo provides clients and teams specialized expertise in transport modelling and transport economics, and is constantly involved with the academia through research partnerships and internship programs. Before joining the World Bank, Eduardo worked in the private sector as a transport consultant, covering projects across multiple regions and on a broad range of topics.

Eduardo holds an B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Universidad del Norte in Colombia, a M. Sc in Transport Infrastructure from Politecnico di Milano in Italy, and a M. Sc. in Transport Economics from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
