Edward Archibald is a World Bank Social Protection Senior Consultant with experience spanning Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. He specializes in social safety nets, shock responsive social protection, delivery systems, and economic inclusion. He is Lead Technical Advisor of the UK government’s social protection technical assistance facility (STAR) and was Deputy Team Leader of SPACE – the advisory service for social protection responses to COVID-19. Edward has also consulted for the Asian Development Bank, Australian DFAT, UN agencies, and the Partnership for Economic Inclusion. Previous roles span multilateral agencies, government, NGOs, and the private sector, including Chief of Social Policy at UNICEF Malawi and Head of the Australian Government aid program in Sri Lanka. He holds an MPhil in Development Studies from Oxford University.
