Efrem Chilima is the Senior Private Sector Development Specialist for World Bank based in Lilongwe, Malawi. He is TTL for the Financial Inclusion and Entrepreneurship Scaling (FInES) Project and co-TTL for the Agriculture Commercialization (AGCOM) Project, and the Shire Valley Transformation Project (SVTP).
A Malawian national, Efrem holds a Bachelor of Social Science Degree in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Malawi, and a master’s degree in Economic and Social Studies from University of Wales, Swansea, United Kingdom.
He has authored Malawi Investment Climate, co-authored various editions of Malawi Economic Monitor, and in 2017, and supported the drafting of Malawi Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP). He has led International Finance Corporation (IFC) advisory projects on trade facilitation and on investment climate improvement.
