Eija Pehu joined the Agriculture and Rural Development Department (now Food and Agriculture Global Practice) of the World Bank in 2000 as the Science Advisor. Her team works on agricultural research, extension and innovation, both with external partners such as CGIAR, as well as supporting World Bank operations. She is also a member of the Gender in Agriculture Team in the World Bank. Prior to joining the World Bank she served as the Department Chair of Agronomy at the University of Helsinki.
