Ekaterina Krivonos is the Chief for Latin America and the Caribbean Service in the FAO Investment Centre. She has over 20 years of experience in analysis and policy advisory on agricultural trade and commodity markets. At FAO, she led the work on the Trade Team in the Markets and Trade Division at the Headquarters and trade policy work in the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. Previously, she also held the post of Deputy Director, Programs, at CGIAR where she was responsible for the delivery of CGIAR’s new 2030 Research Strategy. Ekaterina’s work experience includes developing and executing projects and programmes on agrifood trade, trade agreements and agricultural markets at the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the UN Regional Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean. During her career, she organized multiple high-level dialogues and capacity development programs for agricultural sector stakeholders, delivered numerous country strategies and led the preparation of policy-oriented reports on agricultural markets. She holds a PhD and an MSc degree in Agricultural and Resources Economics from the University of Maryland.
