Elad Shenfeld is a Senior Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Specialist with the World Bank’s Urban and DRM team in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region, where he leads projects on urban development, climate adaptation, and DRM. Before joining the LAC region, Elad was working with the World Bank’s Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), where he led the work on emergency preparedness and response by working with governments on strengthening their emergency preparedness and response systems and increasing resilience to disasters and climate change.
Before joining the World Bank Group, Elad worked for the Israeli Ministry of Defense in Washington D.C.
Elad holds a BA in Economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, Carey Business School. He also holds a degree from the National Defense College.
