Elena Lungu is a Transport Specialist for the Transport and Digital Development Global Practice at the World Bank. She joined the organization in 2012 as a Junior Professional Associate based in Washington, DC. Currently she leads investment operations and analytical work on a wide range of issues, including infrastructure governance, road safety, rural connectivity, railways, road asset management, Public Private Partnerships and digital development in Europe and Central Asia.
Before joining the World Bank, Elena worked as Operations Manager for France Telecom. Elena is a Doctor of Philosophy candidate in Transport Economics and holds a joint Erasmus Master of Science in Economics of International Trade and EU Integration from University of Antwerp, Belgium; Prague School of Economics, Czech Republic and Staffordshire School of Business, the UK.
