Eliana Rubiano-Matulevich, a Colombian national, is a Senior Economist with the World Bank Group’s Poverty and Equity Global Practice (GP) in the Latin American and the Caribbean Region (LCR). Previously she held various positions in the World Bank including Economist in the Global Gender Group. Before joining the World Bank Group, she worked at the Inter-American Development Bank, at Fedesarrollo and at Colombia’s Central Bank.
At the World Bank she has led technical work and policy dialogue on poverty, forced migration and gender equality. She has also led studies on women and girls in STEM, forced migration and entrepreneurship. Eliana holds a Ph.D. from Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbia University in the City of New York and a Master’s degree in Economics from Universidad Javeriana in Bogota (Colombia).
