Elisa Liberatori Prati is the Chief Archivist of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the Director of the Knowledge & Information Services Department in the Information & Technology Solutions (ITS) vice-presidency of the World Bank, in Washington, DC. She leads the WBG Archives and Library, the Internal Documents team, the Records/Information Management Program, the ITS Access to Information service to the public, and the WB Digital Publishing team. These functions strengthen institutional transparency and accountability, while serving the public and the WBG’s decentralized work force. Elisa joined the Bank in 1998 and has played a leadership role in conceiving and implementing the strategy for opening the Archives for full utilization of institutional memory, establishing the service for public access to the Bank’s information, and streamlining library services across the WBG with an emphasis on electronic content integration. She holds a Ph.D in Italian Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles.
