Dr. Elisa Portale is a Senior Energy Specialist at Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) at the World Bank, and she leads the coordination and project management of the ESMAP Energy Analytics Hub, which includes: Tracking SDG7:Energy Progress Report, Multi-tier Framework Global Survey (MTF) and Regulatory Indicators for Sustainable Energy (RISE). She worked on several projects on energy access, in particular Energy Access for the Urban Poor Program, Global Status of Electricity Access Report (SEAR), and the Energy Sector Resilience Project. She worked in several countries in Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, South Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Prior to ESMAP, Elisa worked in Sustainable Development and Climate Change Policy at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. She holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development (Energy) and MSc in Economics and is a Harvard Kennedy School Fellow in Sustainability Science.
