Elizabeth helps to handle communications for the World Bank's Global Practice on Urban, Resilience and Land. She describes herself as an “expatriate citizen of New Orleans." She has lived in Washington, DC for most of her adult life and has consulted in communications at the World Bank and IFC since 2012. Before coming to the Bank, she worked as a digital communications strategist, for The New York Times "On Language" column, as a freelance writer for the Washington Post and others, and on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant. She has a bachelor's degree in history from Louisiana State University, a master’s in literature from the American University in DC, and is “all but dissertation” (ABD) toward a doctorate in English. She relies on nourishment from fellow creatives—writers & poets, artists, musicians, fashion designers—and witty friends to keep her going through these challenging times.
