Emilia (Milina) Battaglini is the Program Manager in the World Bank Climate Change Group based in Washington DC. She oversees the Montreal Protocol and Global Environment Facility operations and programs implemented by the Bank. Prior to her current assignment, she managed the World Bank Latin America and Caribbean Environment and Natural Resources unit. Milina has more than 20 years of experience in environmental and climate change policy and investment operations with a focus on cross-sectoral linkages and global environmental benefits, including biodiversity conservation and sustainable forestry, transboundary water pollution and ozone-depleting substances phase-out in Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and East Asia. While at the World Bank, she spent three years in Sydney, Australia, leading the Bank work on policy development and investments for climate resilience in the Pacific Islands countries. Milina is an Italian national and has a degree in political economy and science from Bocconi University of Milan, Italy.
