A World Bank senior economist with two decades of experience across sectors in Africa, Latin America and S.E Asia, Dr. Brearley has worked on smart agriculture and climate change adaptation, land rights, social protection and renewable energy infrastructure among others—always bringing a crucial Gender Lens to each project. She has designed and implemented investments to increase human development indictors across society—as well as spur economic development. And conducts mixed methods research to make sure projects are innovative, practical and meet client needs.
Dr. Brearley completed her PhD at the Johns Hopkins University School for Advanced International Studies, where her doctoral thesis explored the political economy of conditional cash transfers in Latin America.
