Emmanuel Noubissie Ngankam is the Resident Representative of the World Bank in Algeria since June 2013. He joined the Bank in 2001 as Implementation Specialist for the Chad-Cameroon Petroleum and Pipeline Project. Since then he has held various positions including, Senior Country Officer for the group of countries, Cameroon, Chad, Gabon, and the Central African Republic from 2005 to 2009, And Senior Operations Officer for the Group of countries, Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo, and Burkina Faso from 2009 to 2013.
Before joining the Bank, he spent 20 years holding level positions in the private sector, with international non-governmental organizations and the economic press.
