Emmanuel Pouliquen is Principal Industry Specialist for the Transport Equipment and Light Industrials Sector within International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector financing arm of the World Bank Group. He works worldwide, and is based at the IFC HQ in Washington, DC.
IFC's Transport Equipment and Light Industrials Sector invests in emerging markets related businesses, and is involved in a wide range of manufacturing industries, mostly automotive (including electric vehicles) but also other segments from clean technologies to industrial machinery, batteries, smart grids equipment, electronics, and more.
At IFC he has evaluated and appraised over 180 investment projects totaling more than $22 billion, with more than $3.5B billion closed for IFC own account (equity, quasi-equity and loans, from mature businesses to early-stage ventures).
Prior to joining IFC in 2006, Pouliquen has accumulated since the 1980’s a wide range of operational experience in technology and industrial fields ranging from advanced software solutions, to general management of industrial entities, completed with global investment and venture capital industries exposure.
He has worked with Valeo (automotive) and earlier with Crown Holdings (packaging), Thales (I.T. and electronics), and McDonnell-Douglas Information Systems (computer software), from strategy (with exposure to venture capital and M&A) to hands-on management and turnarounds of industrial businesses, new ventures set-ups, business development, and acquisitions—always within international contexts.
He has an MBA from INSEAD and a MSc. (Ingénieur) from Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics in Paris.
