Ephrem Niyongabo is an Economist with the Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment Global Practice in Western and Central Africa. He works on The Gambia. Previously, he worked in the Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment Global Practice in Eastern and Southern Africa covering Burundi, as a senior monetary policy advisor to the Governor at the Central Bank of Burundi, as a research fellow at the Burundi Economic Development Institute, and as a researcher at the Centre for European Research in Microfinance. Ephrem holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Mons in Belgium, a Master's in development from the University of Liege, Belgium, and a License degree in Economics from the University of Bejaia, Algeria.
