Ernest Massiah currently serves as the Practice Manager for Health, Nutrition and Population (HNP) in the World Bank’s East Africa Region. He holds a doctorate in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University (US), a Masters from the London School of Economics (UK) and BA from the University of Waterloo (Canada).
Ernest rejoined the World Bank in 2015, and served first as Practice Manager for health, nutrition and population in the Middle East North Africa Region before assuming his current post in East Africa. Prior to this he held positions with the UN, Commonwealth Secretariat, the Inter-American Development Bank and CARICOM Secretariat. In the early 1990s, he worked in the World Bank’s West Africa region as a Health Specialist. Ernest speaks English and Spanish.
