Esther Naikal is an economist in the Planet Chief Economist Office at the World Bank. Her recent work focuses on developing methodologies and analytical tools that support countries on adaptation and resilience, including co-leading the adaptation flagship report Rising to the Challenge. She also supports the development of resilience-related indicators of the World Bank Group Scorecard. She previously worked in the Environment Global Practice of the World Bank where she managed the natural capital and wealth accounting global databases and valuation methodology, featured in the Changing Wealth of Nations report series. Esther has a master’s degree in economics from the University of Maryland.
