Jia Jun Lee

Jia Jun (JJ) Lee is a Climate Change Economist (ETC) at the World Bank, mainly focused on climate adaptation and resilience. In his current role, he works on country-level adaptation readiness assessments, project-level climate and disaster stress testing, and was one of the authors of the global flagship “Rising to the Challenge” report. In his previous role as a Research Analyst in the Environment department, he co-led the coastal resilience component of the Indonesia Sustainable Oceans Program, contributed to economic analyses of coastal degradation in West Africa and air pollution in the Middle East, and assessed global poverty-environment linkages. Outside of the World Bank, he has private sector experience doing quantitative economics and sustainable finance consulting as well as non-profit experience with the World Resources Institute, World Wildlife Fund, and National Geographic Society. A Malaysian national, he holds an MPA from Princeton University and BA in Geography from Middlebury College.
