Fabiano Colbano is a senior economist at the Global Practice of Macro, Trade and Investment (MTI) in Brazil. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in economics from FEA-USP in São Paulo, Brazil. He is a licensed federal public servant of the National Treasury Secretariat, where he began his career as an analyst at the Federal Public Debt Management Subsecretariat and, later, as a manager of fiscal planning at the Subsecretariat of Planning and Fiscal Statistics. He also served as general coordinator of Fiscal and Tax Policy at the Secretariat of Economic Policy of the Ministry of Finance. He joined the World Bank in 2016 and, since then, has been working on macroeconomic analysis and developing studies in fiscal policy and public finance, both at the national and sub-national levels. He also works in the preparation and supervision of development projects, as a manager or part of the technical team. He was a collaborator in the study A Fair Adjustment: Efficiency and Equity of Public Spending in Brazil (Brazilian Expenditure Review).
