Fabio Caccioli is professor of complex systems in the Department of Computer Science at University College London. Prior to joining UCL, he has been a research associate in the Centre for Risk Studies, University of Cambridge, and a postdoctoral fellow at the Santa Fe Institute (Santa Fe, US). His research focuses on the application of statistical mechanics to the study of economic and financial systems, in particular for what concerns systemic risk. Other interests include complex networks and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics. Fabio studied physics at the University of Parma (Italy), and he holds a PhD in statistical physics from the International School for Advanced Studies (Trieste, Italy).
