Senior Education Specialist and Head of the Gender at the Centre Initiative at UNESCO's International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP). An expert in gender and equity, she has more than 15 years' experience in international education and social policy in developing countries, within public administrations, CSOs and international organizations on research action, policy formulation, capacity development and program management. Before joining the IIEP, Fabricia Devignes was a Gender Equality Policy Advisor at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, where she coordinated France's international strategy for gender equality and advised in better integrating gender into France's international sectoral priorities (education, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender-based violence, economic empowerment, political leadership). Fabricia also worked for ten years in NGOs as Director of Enda Europe and Vice-President of the Enda-Tiers monde international Southern network, where she coordinated the network's gender equality strategy and managed social policy projects targeting vulnerable populations (education, social protection, gender-based violence, women’s economic empowerment…).
