Farbod Youssefi is a Senior Agribusiness Specialist at the World Bank’s Agriculture & Food Global Practice. During his 25-year career, he has worked in academia, private sector and development organizations, in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia – focusing on food systems, postharvest value chains, agribusiness, and agriculture education.
In his 10 years at the World Bank, he led the Enabling the Business of Agriculture program in its coverage of over 100 countries and its use for policy work globally. In his current position in South Asia, he has been driving several projects that span higher education, agriculture diversification, agribusiness development and knowledge exchange, including as Task Team Leader (TTL) of the Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization Project and co-TTL of the National Agriculture Higher Education Project. He graduated from the Catholic University of Chile in his home country, and obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. at the University of California, Davis.
