Farid is responsible for setting IFC’s global strategies in health and education, managing a combined portfolio of more than $3.2 billion. Prior to joining IFC, Farid was President and CEO of General Electric Africa, leading GE’s operations in Sub-Saharan Africa, including developing sustainable solutions to strengthening health systems. With a career spanning 30 years across financial services and infrastructure industries within Europe, Middle East & Africa, Russia, Turkey and Central Asia. Farid has developed a strong track record of infrastructure project development and financing in the field of power, transportation & healthcare in emerging markets as well as business operations and management.
