Felix Oppong

Senior Economist

Felix Oppong is the Senior Economist of the World Bank for Benin. He has over the past five years been focusing on Francophone African countries such as Senegal, and Mauritania.  Over his career in the Bank, Felix has gained extensive experience preparing budget support operations, analytical products, designing macroeconomic frameworks and incidence analyses.  He also worked as an evaluator in the Independent Evaluation Group for five years during which he assessed World Bank country programs, thematic subjects and lending operations in Chad, Benin, Belize, Ghana, Poland, Serbia, Albania, Argentina, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso and Mozambique. Before joining the World Bank, Felix worked as a Senior Economist at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning of Ghana for nearly a decade. A Ghanaian national, Felix holds a PhD in Tax Policy from University of Pretoria, South Africa, a Master of Philosophy in Economics from University of Ghana, and a Master of Economic Policy Management from UN- African Institute for Economic Development and Planning, Dakar, Senegal.
