Florencia Lopez Boo is a senior social protection economist with the Social Protection and Health Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Her previous positions include working at the IDB Research Department, the World Bank, the OPHI Institute in Oxford’s Department of International Development, as well as teaching at University of Oxford and the University of Louvain-la-Neuve. Her work focuses on early childhood development and evaluation of the impact of social protection programs. She received a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Oxford and a Masters from University of Namur. Her work has been published in peer reviewed journals such as Economic Letters, the Journal of Development Studies and the Cambridge Journal of Economics; and she is the co-author of a chapter on the impact of the global economic crisis on education in the book "Social and Labor Market Policies for Tumultuous Times: Confronting the Global Crisis in Latin America and the Caribbean" (2009). Florencia is a native of Argentina and she is also a research fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor.
