Francis Ovanda Mbele is a Senior Transport Specialist based in the World Bank’s Office in the Central African Republic.
Before joining the World Bank Group in 2020, Francis managed infrastructure programs at the European Union Commission and private sector construction firms in Cameroon. He has extensive experience in road assets management, highway development, road safety, implementing projects in an FCV context, and regional trade facilitation activities. His expertise spans a variety of sub-Saharan African nations, including Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Burundi, and Chad. He is currently the task team leader for the Emergency Infrastructure and Connectivity Recovery Project in CAR and the Transport Sector Development Project in Cameroon.
Francis holds an MSc. in Civil Engineering and Urbanism from the National Advanced School of Engineering of Yaounde, Cameroon, and an Executive MBA from the Advanced School of Management, Montreal-Canada.
