Franka Braun, a German national, is a Senior Natural Resource Management Specialist who is working on land use, forestry and blue economy programs in Mozambique. Prior to her posting in Africa, she was based in Bogotá, focusing on initiatives promoting sustainable land use and reducing deforestation in Colombia and Mexico.
Previous to the World Bank, she worked at Natsource Asset Management, where she developed and managed carbon finance projects around the world, and served as the company's specialist for forestry transactions. She has also worked at the UNDP on access to energy in Africa and in the World Bank's PREM department.
Franka holds a master's degree in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin, and a master’s degree in Economic Policy and International Energy Policy Management from Columbia University.
