Frauke Jungbluth is the Practice Manager for Agriculture and Food in the World Bank’s Europe and Central Asia Sustainable Development Group. She manages analytical services and a lending portfolio focusing on promoting climate smart and nutrition sensitive agriculture, linking smallholder farmers to regional and global market integration, and enhancing rural livelihoods and jobs. Frauke is an agricultural economist with expertise in agricultural policy and rural strategy reform, climate-smart and sustainable agriculture, and public sector management. She has extensive working experience across Africa, Europe and Central Asia, South Asia, and East Asia and the Pacific. Prior to her position as Practice Manager, she was Lead Agriculture Economist in the Agriculture and Food Global Practice in the East Asia and Pacific region, based in Manila, Philippines. Since joining the Bank she held various positions in the Africa, Europe and Central Asia, South Asia, and East Asia and Pacific regions in the Agriculture and Food Global Practice, including field assignments in Mozambique, Bangladesh, and the Philippines.
Frauke holds an M.Sc. in Agriculture Economist from Göttingen University, Germany and Ph.D. in Horticulture Economics from Hannover University, Germany.
