Frida leads the design and implementation of advisory projects in financial innovation, digital transformation and financial inclusion with financial institutions in Latin America. Her work aims at deepening the financial inclusion of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, women-led businesses and vulnerable populations such as forcibly displaced people (migrants) and indigenous communities in the region. Frida has 19 years of international experience in the financial sector and development finance, focusing on MSME finance models, digital finance, and impact investing.
Before IFC, Frida was the investment manager of a boutique asset firm in Frankfurt, responsible for structuring investments in financial institutions with exposure in MSME segments in Latin America, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Africa. She was also responsible for generating investments in small-farmer agriculture models with a US investment fund in Latin America. Her work also includes microfinance fieldwork in India, Mongolia, and Mexico. Frida holds a Master's Degree in International Development from Harvard University and a Master in Finance from Universidad del Pacifico
