Dr Wong has been a Lecturer at the Australian National University (ANU) Centre for Social Research and Methods (CSRM) since July 2018, having completed his PhD at the School of Crime and Criminal Justice, Griffith University in 2018. His publication and research at the ANU has focused on the multidisciplinary methods to extend the knowledge and evidence base in the areas of crime prevention (especially, cyber/future crime and security), actors in illicit drug darknet markets, estimation of the harms of crime (e.g., costs of crime and crime multipliers) and examination of prevention programs’ return on investment. At ANU, Dr. Wong supervises PhD students and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate Criminology and Cyber Security courses such as ‘Introduction to Cybercrime’ and ‘Advanced Criminological Research Methods’. He has also been invited by the New Zealand Serious Fraud Organization as a presenter at the 2023 Fraud Awareness Week.
