Gabriela is an Economist in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice, and a member of the Mind, Behavior, and Development Unit (eMBeD). She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, Argentina, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Duke University. As a member of eMBeD, and former member of the Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) team, she focuses on expanding and improving welfare measurement - including monetary poverty, psychosocial dimensions of poverty, and biometrics - to better inform policy decisions. Since joining the poverty practice as a Young Professional in 2015, she has led policy dialogue, lending operations, and analytical work in various countries in LAC, EAP, and AFE.
