Gary Chew is a transport economist in the selective Young Professionals Program (YPP), based in Washington DC. His portfolio covers aviation, urban mobility, intermodal transport, sustainability and climate resilience, focused on the Eastern and Southern Africa region. He was previously a Senior Manager at the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), nominated Technical Expert to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and Digital Transformation Advisor at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Gary graduated from Yale University with a Master's in Economics and University College London with a Bachelor's in Economics (First Class Honors). He is also a commissioned Air Force officer.
