Gerard Kambou is a Senior Economist with the Development Economics Prospects Group (DECPG) at the World Bank where he covers Sub-Saharan Africa. Gerard joined DECPG from the Africa Region where he worked as country economist on Chad, the Central African Republic, and Ghana. Prior to joining the Africa region, Gerard worked in the Independent Evaluation Group where he conducted the evaluation of World Bank Assistance programs in Mauritania, Senegal and Mali. Before joining the World Bank, Gerard served as Country Economist Uganda at the African Development Bank (AfDB), as Research Officer in Macroeconomics at the Centre for the Studies of African Economies (CSAE) at Oxford University, as Project Associate at the Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID), and as Economist at the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Togo. Gerard holds graduate degrees from Boston University and Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
