Gernot Brodnig is a Senior Social Development Specialist at the World Bank, with a focus on social risk management in West Africa. He is also a member of the Social Development Task Force on Disruptive Technologies, where he is currently exploring the use of remote sensing and other big data in the implementation of the Environmental and Social Framework (ESF). Prior to the World Bank, Gernot worked on a variety of sustainable development issues for UNDP and other UN agencies.
He holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of Vienna as well as graduate degrees in Geography (Cambridge) and Anthropology (Oxford).
