Gevorg Sargsyan is the World Bank's Country Manager for Ukraine, leading the institution's program out of Kyiv. Since 2022, as the Head of Operations for Eastern Europe, he has been overseeing the World Bank’s programs in several countries including Ukraine and Moldova.
Mr. Sargsyan joined the World Bank in 2000. During his 23 years of experience at the World Bank, Mr. Sargsyan has held various positions working across sectors and regions, including as Country Manager and Manager of Operations in Europe and Central Asia and East Asia countries, Program Manager for Climate Finance and Global Lead for Clean Energy.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Sargsyan worked in senior positions at various private and public sector organizations.
He is the author and co-author of a number of publications and papers in the area of clean energy and infrastructure finance. He has an M.S. in applied math, and a Ph.D. (ABD) in economics.
