Gharam Alkastalani Dexter is a Private Sector Development Specialist with the Global Business Regulation Unit in the Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation (FCI) Global Practice. Gharam leads the technical advisory services on gender legal reforms mostly in the MENA region, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. She is currently the Country Technical Specialist for Iraq and the lead of the Iraq work under the Mashreq Gender Facility. Prior to that, Gharam worked for seven years with the Women, Business and the Law data team as a regulatory specialist. Gharam holds a law degree from Damascus University, Syria in 2010 and a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) from American University Washington College of Law, USA in 2012. She is a native Arabic speaker.
